A huge thank you to Steve from One Day Creative Company, who treated both classes to a brilliant drama workshop to support the children's knowledge and awareness of Black History. The Swallows learnt the story of Rosa Parks whilst the Eagles travelled through a timeline of slavery meeting individuals of significance such as Martin Luthur King and Abraham Lincoln. Steve was mightily impressed with our pupils!

  • The Hare and the Tortoise

Tue 12 Dec 2023 Sally Winfield

We were lucky to be invited to an exclusive dress rehearsal of The Hare and the Tortoise at Hope Methodist Chapel. Our involvement with the Buxton Opera House Satellite Project meant that cast and crew were keen to come and test the show and a follow up workshop with us and it was quite spectacular! It was a polished and professional performance with much audience participation and laughter. It certainly kept all pupils - from Year R right up to Year 6 - fully enthralled.

  • Vernon's Ultra Ultra Marathon Visit

    Thu 16 Nov 2023

What an exciting morning we had when Vernon Kay came past our school as part of his ultra ultra marathon in aid of Children in Need. We had done lots of preparation to make sure we gave him the best Edale Primary welcome and it was perfect that it happened to be on a Mr Corker morning so we could serenade him with the Radio 2 theme tune as he arrived. We think it's the inspirational quotes and power pack, which we'd made for him that spurred him onto the finish!

  • A visit from an international sports star!

    Fri 03 Feb 2023

Today, we all met at Hope School to take part in a sponsored fitness circuit with the badminton player, Jenny Wallwork. She was so very impressed with our determination to keep going during a HIIT session which lasted a very long time! She then delivered an assembly to us about what it takes to become the very best at something. We couldn't believe it when she told us that a shuttlecock can travel at 300km per hour!

What a brilliant sporty Friday. Well done team Edale.
